Lost Shaker Alpacas is owned and operated by two retired educators, the husband and wife team of Jack Beck and Viki VanRoekel.
A Twin Falls ID Alpaca Breeder, the owners of Lost Shaker Alpacas have
dedicated their lives to working with animals.
Before starting Lost Shaker Alpacas, Jack and Viki were volunteers with Rescue a Golden Arizona, and organization that cared for and placed abandoned or unwanted Golden Retrievers.
How Lost Shaker Alpacas Got Its Name
Ever wonder how Lost Shaker Alpacas got its name? Think Jimmy Buffet! While it may seem odd for an Idaho Alpaca Breeder to associate a parrot and island paradise into its name, Jack and Viki are huge “Parrot Heads” and wouldn’t have it any other way. Taking a line from the song, Margaritaville, Lost Shaker Alpacas merged the couples love for all things Jimmy Buffet with their commitment to raising happy and healthy alpacas.
The Move to Idaho
A Twin Falls ID Herd Sires Alpaca Breeder, Lost Shaker Alpacas was formerly located in the Phoenix, Arizona Metropolitan area. In 2005, the ranch relocated to Twin Falls, Idaho to a 12 acre farm. Today, the animals continue to thrive in this beautiful, outdoor environment; nestled in South Central Idaho. Interested visitors are welcomed to call anytime and are more than welcomed to come see our active and growing, alpaca farm.
Services Provided
Dedicated to raising and caring for alpacas, Jack and Vicki provide a variety of alpaca sales, stud and boarding services. Whether interested in buying one of the Lost Shaker Alpacas’ champion-lined alpacas, breeding your dam with one of Lost Shaker Alpacas’ Idaho Herd Sires, boarding your alpaca at the Lost Shaker Alpacas’ farm, or purchasing some of the herd’s multi-colored fibers, guests are welcomed to inquire about and take advantage of any of these services.
Visitors interested in alpaca fiber processing have several options available to them; depending on their needs and preferences. While Lost Shaker Alpacas sells raw alpaca fleeces, we also can spin your existing raw alpaca fleeces. If you are interested in purchasing the finished, spun fibers from one of Lost Shaker Alpacas’ own herd stock, homespun yarns are also available. Lighter than traditional wool, knitters will find this colorful yarn is soft to the touch and is easy to use.
